
Sciolism is an amazingly ironic word to put in a "Word of the Day" calender, since its sole purpose is to superficially boost one's vocabulary and thereby help one win bragging rights in scrabble.

Some of these words are almost aggressively obtuse, as if they're challenging us to shoe-horn them into a conversation. I'm not even sure I can intelligently pronounce 'pococurante', which by the way my computer's auto-corrector assures me is spelled obscurantists.
